A found a nice surprise during the Slap Stick Course. Charley Chase shorts. He;s a funny little fellow but paired with Thelma Todd its comedy gold. It's sad that he is mostly forgotten. But thanks to TCM courses like this one, these forgotten gems are found. Coming from a noir background the Slapstick course took some getting used too because I'm all about the Summer of Darkness. But this course does not disappoint. Richard Edwards dies the lectures from an ESPN angle. The daily doses are hilarious and there are fan videos. This course is very well put together. I have a better appreciation of Buster Keaton. I was always a Chaplin fan and glad to hear Wheeler and Woosley will be shown because they are forgotten stars but hilarious. This week out of the silents and into the 30s my favorite time period for comedy!!
