One of James Mason's finest performances is also one of his saddest. And the ending of this film floors you literally. To tell you anything more about The Upturned Glass would be a disservice. It's just best to watch a young James Mason in a role he plays effortlessly. The clue I'll give you is he goes a bit mad at the end like Edward G. Robinson in the Amazing Dr. Clitterhouse. Besides that watch it if you haven't already!

In the 1930s, Bette Davis played many socialite roles which at times are a breath of fresh air compared to her more serious roles. Don't get me wrong, I like Bette on the rampage, but one such role is Fog Over Frisco. She plays a spoiled socialite. It's a small role, but she does so well you never forget her the whole movie. You can tell she has star power. She evens enters the movie with a Bang!
